Various sections of the Manitoba Fire Code require that documentation is maintained for certain buildings by the owner or occupant in charge. The Fire Prevention Monthly Log forms below are samples of maintenance records that an owner or occupant in charge may use. You may save these as your own file and customize to your specific needs. All of this information is located on the Office of the Fire Commissioner Website.

Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs Mentorship Program
We all remember what it was like when we first started as the Fire Chief in our Communities, how much we needed to learn and how it would have been nice to have someone to reach out to.
A new Fire Chief has these and so many other things to consider:
– Budgets
– Responsibilities as the Fire Chief to Citizens, Town / City Council
– Bylaws
– Procurement
– Running a scene
– Records Management
– Training Records
– The Human Resource side of dealing with difficult situations
– And so much more
That is why in 2023 the MAFC created the MAFC Mentorship Program so that experienced Fire Chiefs could provide much needed advice and mentoring to new Fire Chiefs across our province. The MAFC Mentorship Committee is looking for current and retired Chiefs who are willing to be a mentor. Once we have a list of available mentors we plan to send an information package through to the AMM to inform Communities across Manitoba of the MAFC’s mentorship assistance for new Fire Service Leaders.
Please consider putting your name forward to become a mentor. Click Here for the Application
2026 Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation
(MAFC sponsors individuals to attend)
The Manitoba Fire Service was privileged to serve as the Honorary Host for the 2019 Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation (CFFF) Memorial Ceremony in Ottawa, an experience that was both memorable and deeply moving for all involved. In subsequent years, the Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs (MAFC) continued its commitment to this important event by sponsoring four Manitoba Fire Service members to attend the ceremonies in 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 2025, this sponsorship was increased to include six members, all of whom found the experience to be profoundly humbling.
Looking ahead to 2026, the MAFC will once again sponsor six Manitoba Fire Fighters to attend the CFFF Memorial Ceremony in Ottawa. The sponsorship will cover a two-night stay, allowing attendees to fully participate in the weekend’s events and gain a comprehensive understanding of the ceremony’s significance to the families and everyone involved. The 2026 Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026. For further information about the ceremony, please visit the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation website at https://www.cfff.ca/EN/the-memorial-weekend.html
In 2025, 16 applications were received and we encourage those who were not selected to reapply for the 2026 ceremony.
An application form is attached for interested individuals. Please complete and return the form by the application deadline of June 1, 2026.
Details regarding eligibility requirements and covered expenses are as follows.

2026 MAFC Annual CFFF Fundraiser
This is a crucial reminder about the MAFC’s initiative to raise funds in support of the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation (CFFF) Memorial Weekend in Ottawa. We are calling on every firefighter in Manitoba to contribute $2.00, but it is important that we strive to exceed this goal. The CFFF receives no government funding, so every single donation—large or small—makes a meaningful difference. Your support directly enables the CFFF to host the families of fallen firefighters, honour their legacy, and ensure that the Memorial Weekend remains a powerful tribute to those who have given everything in service.
In 2019, the Manitoba Fire Service was privileged to host this event in Ottawa, sending a contingent to provide hands-on assistance to families of the fallen. The impact was profound and lasting, emphasizing just how essential this initiative is for our community.
Each year more names are inscribed on the memorial wall, and many families attend the ceremony to honour their loved ones. This is a sobering reminder of the ongoing sacrifices made by firefighters and the ever-growing need for support. This is why we must come together and push for even greater participation and generosity—each donation strengthens the bonds within our firefighting family and helps ensure that no family is left unsupported in their time of grief.
The 2026 donation form is attached for your reference. We urge you not only to contribute yourself but also to encourage your colleagues to do the same. Please ensure all donations reach us by December 1, 2026, so we can continue to offer vital support to those who need it most.
Your involvement matters. Let’s honour our fallen heroes and their families by making this fundraising effort the most successful yet. Thank you for your outstanding support.
