The Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs
The Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs (MAFC) is a non-profit organization. We are a well respected organization, approachable by all firefighters with concerns or comments.
Established in 1950 by a group dedicated to improve the fire service and be a voice in the legislature, the group saw a need to deal with issues affecting the fire service at the provincial level. They realized it was essential to join forces in order to improve all fire services by supporting full time, part time and rural-based fire services. They also recognized a need to communicate and share experiences and ideas with their colleagues from all areas of the province.
The MAFC consists of a President and Board of Directors and a membership of Fire Chiefs and Deputy Chiefs from across the Province.
The Board of Directors, elected by the membership is made up of representatives from City and Municipal Fire Departments, Mutual Aid Districts, Industry representatives and is supported by the Office of the Fire Commissioner.
